Sustainable Bus Awards 2022 announces finalists
European vehicle manufacturers are competing for the top spots in the Sustainable Bus Awards which has announced its lists of finalists in three categories: urban bus, intercity and coach.
Among city buses, the challenge this year will be between three battery-electric vehicles: Irizar ie bus, MAN Lion’s City E, and Solaris Urbino 15 LE Electric. In the ‘Intercity’ segment, the finalists are the new version of the Mercedes Intouro, which is set to be launched this year, the Scania Interlink LNG and the Isuzu Kendo CNG.
Among coaches, the challenge will be between Volvo 9700 DD, MAN Lion’s Coach, Indcar L9 DAF.
The jury represents eight European magazine editors, including greenbusandcoach.com’s Steve Rooney.
The shortlisted vehicles are evaluated in the following areas: Engine, Transmission, Safety, Comfort, Sustainability.
The Sustainable Bus Award is based on promoting sustainability to establish a positive image of the sector in the eyes of the general public. The awards will be presented online in the autumn.
