Karsan showcases Jest Electric at Greece EcoFest
Karsan showcased its Jest Electric vehicle at the EcoFest Athens 2020, which was jointly held by the DEPA company and the Municipality of Athens in Athens, Greece. Equipped with BMW i battery technology, the Jest Electric was the only electric public transportation vehicle at the event where the focus was on eco-mobility in cities.
The vehicle, which has now been delivered to the West Attica University in Greece, provided Niki Kerameos, Greek minister of education and Gerasimos Thomas, Greek minister of energy, with a test drive at EcoFest.
Since 1981, Karsan has been producing commercial vehicles at its factory in Bursa, Hasanağa, which can produce up to 18,200 vehicles a year on a single shift.
Currently the company manufactures H350 light commercial vehicles for Hyundai Motor Company, 10, 12 and 18m buses for Menarinibus, and its own Jest, Atak and Star models. It also produces full electric vehicles, including the Jest Electric and Atak Electric in partnership with BMW.
