Iveco Bus reaches production milestone with delivery of 500th E-Way
Iveco Bus’ factory in Rorthais, France has just completed its 500th electric bus. The 500th unit from the Rorthais site is a 12m E-Way bus operated by Keolis Pays d’Aix on the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolitan area network. It is part of an order for 46 vehicles to be delivered from now until the end of 2024.
The 12m version has been the best-seller in France and has been adopted by many transport and public authorities in France, Norway, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria and Germany.
The 500th E-Way, branded GX Elec in France, is equipped with lithium-ion NMC batteries that are recharged overnight.
The Rorthais plant has been producing hybrid-electric vehicles and trolleybuses for more than 20 years.
“The production of the 500th E-Way is a milestone for us”, says Stéphane Espinasse, president, Iveco France. “Our plant is a true centre of excellence in electromobility.”
