Citaro hybrid approved for Low Emission Bus (LEB) certification

The Mercedes-Benz Citaro hybrid has been approved for Low Emission Bus (LEB) certification which means operators of the vehicle can attract up to a 6p/km LEB Service Operator’s Grant.

EvoBus estimates that this could be a saving of £3,000 a year, based on an average of 50,000km per annum per vehicle.  It adds that beyond government grants, the Citaro hybrid already delivers up to an 8.5 per cent fuel consumption saving compared to the Euro VI diesel-powered Citaro.
