Alexander Dennis has confirmed an order for 180 Enviro500 double-deck buses for Hong Kong’s largest bus operator The Kowloon Motor Bus Company, for delivery in the first half of 2020.
The new ADL order, which comes in the wake of the collapse of Wrightbus, which had previously announced orders for 150 Volvo/Wrights and 50 integral StreetDecks.
ADL’s new KMB order includes 76 short-wheelbase Enviro500s at 11.3m, and 104 at 12.8m with 80 and 98 seats respectively.
The newEuro 6 Enviro500 for KMB will have solar panels on the roof to support the vehicle’s energy requirements including the air-conditioning system and other auxiliaries.
This new order continues a long relationship between Alexander Dennis and KMB, with more than 2,200 Enviro500 buses delivered since the current generation model was launched in 2012.
