New chief executive appointed at CPT

Following a major review of its staffing which saw the departure of former chief executive Simon Posner, CPT has now appointed Graham Vidler as the new chief executive. Vidler, who was previously director of external affairs at the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association, takes up his post on 7 May.

“Following a lengthy and detailed interview process, I am delighted that Graham has agreed to join CPT as our new chief executive,” says CPT president Martin Dean. “Graham’s vast experience within external relations and communications & policy roles means he is ideally positioned to lead our trade association during these challenging and ever-changing times.

“Graham brings a huge amount of practical and detailed business knowledge to this key position within the industry, and I am confident that his appointment will further establish CPT as the organisation leading the debate on the future of road transport and the on-going contribution of bus and coach.”

Also joining the new CPT external relations unit are Tom Brackenbury and Alison Edwards as external relations manager and policy & public affairs manager respectively.
